Description	:	On Tuesday morning February 20, 1917 at half past five o'clock as the chapel bell was ringing at St. Mary's hospital at Kansas City another loving soul passed to the great beyond. Mary Hussey was born in Roscommon, Ireland, June 24, 1851. Her parents dying while she was quite young, she came to America at the age of 18 and lived for a short time in Peoria, Ill., then she came to Burlington, Kansas, where she lived until her death. Mary Hussey was born in Roscommon, Ireland, June 24, 1851. Her parents dying while she was quite young, she came to America at the age of 18 and lived for a short time in Peoria, Ill., then she came to Burlington, Kansas, where she lived until her death. Her kind husband passed away June 17, 1910. She was married to Frank L. Weigand February 2, 1875, and went to housekeeping on the farm west of Burlington that has since been the home and where their children have been born and reared to manhood and womanhood. They were the parents of six children, all of whom survive her. Lyda and George were with her when she passed away, Nella arriving a few hours after her death. The children are: Mrs. Mary Neubrecht, William J., of Los Angeles, Calif., Joseph F., of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Geo. B. Decker, of this place, Mrs. J. W. Cushman of Parsons, Kansas and George L. at home. Her sons William J. and Joseph F. were unable to attend the funeral. Mrs. Weigand's sickness was of a short duration. She was taken sick quite suddenly on Saturday evening February 10th and all that loving hands could do was of no avail. Finding an operation was necessary, she was taken to St. Mary's hospital in Kansas City, Mo., where she was operated on for formations in the upper intestines. She came out of the operation nicely and seemed to be doing fine, when other complications set in. She was conscious only a few hours after Lyda and George arrived Monday evening. She passed peaceably away Tuesday morning at half past five. Mrs. Weigand was a kind and loving mother, a good neighbor, and a loyal citizen. There were few like her. She lived for her children and discouraged wrong in all places. She was bright and cheerful during her sickness, always having a cheerful greeting and bright smile for all who called.
