Description	:	Max Eugene Yoder, 75, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on May 13, 2020 after a recent battle with kidney cancer. Max was born on May 24, 1944 to Tim and Lucille Yoder in Denver, Colorado. He was the third of their eight children. The family moved to Archbold in 1945. Read More	Max Eugene Yoder, 75, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on May 13, 2020 after a recent battle with kidney cancer. Max was born on May 24, 1944 to Tim and Lucille Yoder in Denver, Colorado. He was the third of their eight children. The family moved to Archbold in 1945. At the age of fourteen, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior while attending Zion Mennonite Church. Max graduated from Archbold High School in 1962 and became co-owner of Yoder Compost along with his brother Tom. On June 12, 1965 Max married Pat Leu at the Archbold Evangelical Mennonite Church, and she survives. Max served in the United States Army Reserve and was a member of the Archbold American Legion, Post 311. As a member of the Archbold Evangelical Mennonite Church, he served as a youth sponsor and quiz leader. He was a member of Archbold Lions Club and the Fulton County Republican Committee for many years. He retired in 2015 after twenty years in automobile sales. Max will be remembered for his quick wit and good sense of humor. Max is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pat; a son, Bob (Peg) Yoder of Ridgeville Corners, OH and a daughter, Trish (Moses) Rodriguez of Archbold, OH; nine grandchildren, Haley (Galy) Civil, Chelsey, Alex, Isaac, Chase and Drew Yoder, and Nic, Naomi and Natalie Rodriguez. Max is also survived by his sisters, Peg (Duane) Frey, Mary (Bob) Birkey, Jean (David Newcomer) Yoder, Barb (Alexis) Zamora, Linda (Tony) Szilagye, and Joyce (Matthew Nickele) Yoder; and sister-in-law Glora Belle Yoder. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Tom. Due to the national health concern, there will be no public visitation or service. A private graveside service will be held at the Archbold Cemetery with Pastor Jesse Kahler officiating. Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Gideons International, Samaritan’s Purse, or the Archbold Evangelical Church. Max’s family would like to thank all those who have supported them with prayers and acts of kindness. A special thank you to Elara Caring (Hospice) for their services.
