Description	:	Richard Walter, age 83, passed away Friday morning, Nov. 13, 2009, at his home in Tallahassee, Fla. Richard was born July 23, 1926 in Archbold, Ohio, the son of Henry and Florence (Wonser) Walter. He married Lois Burkholder on Aug. 6, 1950. He lived in Archbold for 76 years before moving to Tallahassee. He worked at the Archbold post office as postmaster for two years, then as a rural mail carrier for 33 years. Richard is survived by his wife, Lois; daughters Cynthia England of Melbourne, Fla., and Crystal Wakoa (husband David Moynahan) of Tallahassee, Fla.; son Max Walter of Redding, Calif.; grandson Spencer (wife Helen) England of Jupiter, Fla.; granddaughters Lumin Wakoa of Providence, R.I. and Marley Moynahan of Washington, D.C.; and sister Rachael Wolf (husband Randy) Matthew of North Port, Fla. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, sister Helen Vanderveer Zabawa, and brother Henry Walter, Jr. Richard had a way of seeing directly into a person’s heart and bringing out the best in them. His sharp wit, generous spirit, big heart (as well as his bold euchre playing) will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Memorial services will be held Thursday, Nov. 19 at the family home with Pastor Rick Walker of John Wesley Methodist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Richard’s memory to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
