Also living with them were a John V. Bradly age 12 born October 1887 in Ohio, and a Frank Lowmiller (Boarder) age 47 born May 1852 in Ohio. The census stated that Solomon & Susan were married for 44 years and had 10 children, and 8 were still living at that time. Also both of Solomon and Susan's parents were born in Pennsylvania. His obituary in the Carroll Chronicle, Carrollton, Ohio, Friday, February 7, 1908. Solomon Miller, an aged farmer of Loudon Township, died Sunday, February 2, after an illness of one week with grip and pneumonia. He was one of the oldest citizens of the county, having been born near Germano, August 2, 1828, hence had about half completed his 80th year. He was married twice--first to Elizabeth Long and again to Susannah Reigle. He was the father of thirteen children--three by the first wife and ten by the second. Of the second family eight are living, together with the widow. There are twenty grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He passed his life in farming, and was industrious, successful, careful and well informed. He had been a member of the Reformed Church at Germano 33 years, and a subscriber of the Chronicle since its first issue. His obituary in the Free Press Standard, Carrollton, Ohio, Friday, March 13, 1908. In the death of Solomon Miller, which occurred February 2, 1908, the Reformed Church at Germano lost a faithful and devoted member. He was born August 4, 1828, near Germano, and had reached the ripe age of 79 years, 7 months and 28 days. He was married in 1848 to Elizabeth Long, and to them were born three children. Mrs. Miller died in 1852, and four years later he was married to Susan Reigle. To this union were born ten children, two of whom have passed to the great beyond. He is survived by a wife, eleven children, twenty four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Their loss is his gain. He was a member of the Reformed Church at Germano for the past thirty-three years. The funeral services were held in the Methodist episcopal Church at Kilgore by his pastor, and interment was made February 4 in the cemetery joining the church. The names of the surviving children follow: Mary Jane DeVault, of Bloomfield, Iowa; Melancthon, of Annapolis; Charlotte Davis and Martha Simmons, of Kilgore; James, of Sherrodsville; Ira A., George W. and Ida May, at home; Emma Buchanan, near Leavittsville; Ollie Simmons, near Harlem Springs, all of whom except James and Mrs. DeVault attended the funeral. Adam, of near Cadiz Junction, is a brother, and Catherine Lavergood, of Annapolis, and Malinda Crumrine, of Missouri, are sisters.
