The son of Anton and Mary Dula Wass, he was born July 29, 1890, in Columbus, and attended St. Francis academy here. He was married to Helen Bonk in February, 1925, at St. Anthony church, and they made their home here. Mr. Wass was a painter and interior decorator. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in a medical unit, and was affiliated with the American Legion. He was a charter member of the Eagles Lodge, and also belonged to the Izaak Walton League. Mr. Wass was a charter member of St. Anthony's church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Helen) Wielgus, Columbus; nine grandchildren; one brother, Frank, Columbus; two sisters, Miss Celia Wass of Columbus and Mrs. D. M. (Josephine) Cody of Wichita, Kan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, who died in February, 1952; and three brothers, John, Adam, and W. J. Wass and three sisters, Mrs. John Mader, Mrs. Steve Korus and Viola.
