Mr. Lang was one of our most prominent farmers in the prime of life and enjoying the best of health until on Friday, October 21, when he was taken suddenly ill, passing away on Sunday, October 23. Read More	JJohn W. Lang This community was greatly shocked to learn of the sudden and unexpected death of John Lang, at his home southwest of Emerson. Mr. Lang was one of our most prominent farmers in the prime of life and enjoying the best of health until on Friday, October 21, when he was taken suddenly ill, passing away on Sunday, October 23. Mr. Lang was born October 21, 1874, on the farm where he died, aged thirty-six years and two days. He leaves a wife and two small children, mother, four brothers and four sisters, all of whom were present at the funeral except one sister. The funeral services were held from the home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock conducted by Rev. Walter A. Morgan of the Emerson M. E. Church, and were largely attended by old friends and neighbors of the deceased, who knew and like him for his upright character and staunch friendship. The remains were brought to Emerson and were interred in the beautiful Emerson Cemetery. On reaching the city limits, the Masons joined the procession and took charge of the services at the grave.
