Description	:	MINNIE MAY NORTHROP Minnie May Cushing was born in Greenfield, Ilinois, December 30, 1862, and departed this life at the age of 85 years, three months and 14 days. At the age of nine months she moved with her parents to Assumption, Illinois, where she resided until the spring of 1880, when they came to Edgar, Nebraska, and located on a farm four miles north of town. Read More	MINNIE MAY NORTHROP Minnie May Cushing was born in Greenfield, Ilinois, December 30, 1862, and departed this life at the age of 85 years, three months and 14 days. At the age of nine months she moved with her parents to Assumption, Illinois, where she resided until the spring of 1880, when they came to Edgar, Nebraska, and located on a farm four miles north of town. She was married to Doctor Northrop January 30, 1884, and to this union six children were born, three of whom preceded her in death, Earl, Leslie and Lena. She has made her home with the children since the death of her husband, October 11, 1944, and leaves to mourn her passing three children, Clinton of San Diego, California; Edwin of Cumberland, Iowa; and Florence Benson of Omaha, Nebraska, where she was residing at the time of her death. Also 17 grandchildren, one brother, M. E. Cushing of Edgar, only surviving member of her family, and many other relatives and friends. She has been a member of the Methodist church for many years and often expressed her desire to go to her Eternal Home. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 17, 1948, at the McGhie Funeral Home in Edgar, Nebraska, with Rev. S. W. Longacre in charge. Mrs. Lydia Phelps and Mrs. Bryon Kinnison sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and " Sweetly Resting". Mrs. C. B. Smith was at the piano. Pallbearers were: Clair Cushing, Loren Cushing, S. L. Overturf, Ray Mileger, W. J. Goesch and Curtis Ogle. Interment was made in the Edgar cemetery. Those from out-of-town attending the funeral of Mrs. Minnie Northrop Saturday were: Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Benson and Mr. and Mrs. Jean Benson of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Northrop of Cumberland, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Ogle of Lincoln, Miss Edith Ogle of Aurora, Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Wells of Harvard, Mrs. Morris Rogers and Dale Rogers of Clyde, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Gotherridge of Hastings, Mrs. Verna Thomas and Mrs. Ollie Tooker of Clay Center, Mrs. Doris Andersen of Ong and Mr. and Mrs. C.
