ELLIOTT Robert Steele Elliott died at six-thirty Saturday morning at his home, 51 Montgomery avenue, following a paralytic stroke suffered on Thursday. He had been in failing health for the past two years. Mr. Elliott was born June 14, 1867, in Augusta county, a son of George W. and Carolina Steele Elliott. He had made his home in Staunton for many years, and was a member of the Moose lodge. Surviving are his wife, who was Laura Bell Smith, of the county, and the following children: H.W. Elliott of Charleston, W. Va.; Mrs. R.F. Marquis, of Lynchburg; W.M. Elliott and Mrs. H. Russell Fifer, of Staunton; Misses Marion and Isabel, at home; a sister, Miss Annie Elliott, of Greenville; three brothers, Chas. F. and Albert H. Elliott, of Greenville, and Thos. J. Elliott, of Lexington. Funeral services will be held from the home at ten-thirty o'clock Monday morning, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Boyd V. Switzer, of Central Methodist church, of which Mr. Elliott was a member. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel cemetery. Pallbearers, active: C.D. Weaver, Cecil Matthews, W.A.
